Are you Funday Factory’s new Artist?

We’re looking for a swiss-knife-kind-of-artist to join our journey at Funday. We know it’s a bit much to ask for, but if you see yourself as an experienced art generalist with an interest in games - we’re off to a pretty good start.

What you will be working on:

Things are moving fast in Funday and now we’re on the lookout for an artist who wants to be a big part of one of our game development processes. As our new artistic colleague you’ll be working with the entire art pipeline from idea to final experience on our productions and you feel confident being an art generalist taking a game from A-Z. As an artist at Funday your job will include tasks such as:

  • Creating original 3D content, ranging from simple assets to full-fledged environments
  • Modeling, sculpture and texture stylized environment assets, props and characters
  • Help shape vague ideas into concrete concepts to help the team align on the game direction
  • Collaborate with team members of other disciplines to make needed adjustments to the production pipeline and art assets

Who you are:

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who has a passion for concepting, modeling, sculpting & texturing and who is eager to work with games. We are in the fortunate position that we can - to some extent at least - shape and tweak the new artist position depending on the field of applicants and the final match. This means that whether you are newly graduated or have some years of experience, we can fit the working tasks and areas of responsibility accordingly. Therefore we would love to hear from you no matter your level of experience.

Professionally, you:

  • Have experience with Maya,  Blender or similar
  • Have a good understanding of rigging and the more technical aspects of shader work
  • Are able to create and maintain an art direction which supports the game vision
  • Have a strong portfolio that showcases your work with 3D modeling, sculpting and texturing
  • Have a strong sense of scene composition and visual storytelling, with a good eye for lighting, color and detail
  • Generally find it easy to adapt to new tools and programmes
  • It’s a plus if you are familiar with Unity, have experience with Unity’s Particle System and know your way around the engine

On a more personal level, you:

  • Are passionate about game development and know how to visually engage users
  • Are a teamplayer and truly believe that two minds are better than one
  • Communicate easily with all types of people and professions
  • Have the drive to collaborate, innovate and learn
  • Work systematically and structured while maintaining an agile process
  • Aim for excellence in all aspects of your work
  • Thrive in a growing business with a flat hierarchy and room for slippers

What we offer:

We offer you a full time job with lots of opportunities for taking on responsibility and challenges in a company where creativity and having fun are driving forces. Otherwise, we cover simple needs like great lunch, fruit, snacks and loads of coffee, and then we offer a fun and creative work environment with the most awesome people.

Who we are:

Funday Factory is an experienced games studio based in the heart of Aarhus trusted by partners like SYBO Games, Apple and LEGO. We are 43 talented colleagues - all eager to bring fun games to millions of people.

At Funday Factory, we go to work to produce the greatest games of the highest possible quality - always with our players in the driver's seat. But that’s only half the reason. We go to work to have fun. A lot of fun so if you like informal environments filled with creative and technical expertise - and where slippers, lava lamps and Star Wars t-shirts are much more common than suits and ties, you’ll fit right in.

If you recognise yourself in the above description, you are very likely our new colleague. But - we care fiercely about making the right personality matches, so send us an application and CV ASAP, so we can meet you :-)
